Not by fire, but by ice...
Robert Felix has a book out called "Not By Fire But By Ice". According to this scientist, global warming be damned, we are heading into a new ice age. Hmmm...after how cool this summer has been compared to previous summers, I might be able to actually latch on to this idea.
Felix also has a website up where he collects data and watches temperature changes across the country. Here is the link:
Ice Age Now
It's very interesting...could this be the first times humans actually get to witness a full on ice age?

Re: Not by fire, but by ice...
We had a very hot, dry summer in the PNW...too much so. The only way to keep track of what's happening is to average the temperature of the earth as a whole.
First it's Global Warming...eeek! better live near a good source of water!
Then it's Ice Age...eeek! our house will be under a glacier soon!
There's no way to plan for every eventuality...but I love to read them all. Thanks Roick, another book I'll check out from the library to throw me into a tizzy.
Edit: Our library doesn't have the book. I'll look through the website...

Re: Not by fire, but by ice...
After reading through some of the website, I'd say the author is doing what I've occasionally seen on both sides of this controversy...reporting information which supports only one side. There's an article posted on the website about Washington state having unseasonably cold weather this weekend, but I'll bet the fact that we had record temps and unusually long dry spells this year didn't get posted.
In this field and in the field of nutrition, among others, we need objective studies/tests of the various theories. It's fine to post information, but anyone with an agenda trying to prove their pet theory isn't entirely to be trusted, since they could be discounting contrary information.
It's all interesting to read, though...

Re: Not by fire, but by ice...
Roick, I just finished reading the other book by that author, Magnetic Reversals and Evolutionary Leaps; the True Origin of Species, copyright 2009. That is doom to end all doom, a very depressing book. I don't know whether to tell people about it or not because it could mess with their minds for no reason. But if it's true...what a bummer. Don't know if I'd recommend it unless someone wants to try to protect themselves and needs the info or can throw off the stress over the possiblity of it being true.
If anyone does read it, let me know what you think, since I don't have enough knowledge in the area to judge the credibility.

After all those warnings, that's what flame said, too.
So you guys let me know if you think there's any validity.
